About us

What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is the oldest fraternal organization in existence and is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to help make the world a better place. Through our culture of philanthropy, we make a profound difference for our Brothers, our families, our communities and our future.

Our Mission is to make good men better, to teach and perpetuate a way of life that promotes the Brotherhood of Man under the Fatherhood of God and our Vision is to be the premier organization composed of men of integrity and character, who are honest, true to their word, have a belief in God, are devoted to family, charitable in their community, and courteous and helpful to each other.

Freemasonry is a social organization that promotes charity, esteem and love for each Brother and their families. We serve our country, promote peace and help others in need. Masonic organizations in North America collectively contribute well over 2.7 million dollars every day to charities.

Many of our nations’s founding fathers were Masons, including thirteen signers of the Constitution. Fourteen U.S. Presidents were also Masons beginning with George Washington, who was a Virginia Mason, as were James Monroe, and William McKinley. Freemasons are from diverse religious, professional and political backgrounds.

Midlothian Lodge 211 has been home to leaders in the community for 150 years. We have an interesting and active Lodge always displaying charity, esteem and brotherly love. To become one you must ask one. In order to join our Fraternity, you must be a good man who has a belief in God. Our membership is open to men of all faiths, and of good character.
